Former NLF great to host Sr. Football Leadership Development Camp

Former NFL great, education, community and business leader announces the Gerald D. Irons, Sr. Football and Leadership Development Camp, June 13 & 14, 2014 at The Woodlands College Park High School.

“As a former NFL player, father and someone with a passion for education, I have seen too many football camps focusing only on skill drills. We will focus on what it takes to become a great player and developing a young man for life, such as good grades, leadership, character and life skills. What I plan for this Camp are the same disciplines I hold for myself and I instilled in my three sons. All three attended Division I Colleges, served as team captains, leaders and graduated with college degrees. I have a great family, career and have achieved many accomplishments, but creating this Camp has been a life long dream of how I can give back.”

The football field will be my classroom and the game is my vehicle to teach lifelong lessons by creating memorable experiences and having fun. Camp Participants will learn to be the best student-athletes, with the power to take control of their own destiny. It is the mission of our Camp to build character, develop a work ethic, leadership skills, self-discipline, teamwork and a commitment to excellence. Our purpose is for Camp Participants to pursue excellence and become great leaders. We will always prepare, practice and play to win on the field, in the classroom and in the game of life. We will learn to never lose. We will always either win or learn. click here for complete story
