Oak Ridge High School announced on Monday the addition of two new basketball coaches. Former Conroe coach Deidre Hinze will take over the girls program while Neil Laminack will hold the boys position.
Hinze has 17 years of coaching and teaching experience. She started her career at Madisonville as the varsity basketball and junior varsity volleyball coach before becoming an assistant basketball coach at Sam Houston State University, where she spent four seasons. Hinze played for the Bearkats from 1991 to 1995.
Laminack comes from Marble Falls, where he was 25-45 as the head coach over the past two seasons. He has previous head coaching experience at Cathedral Christian in Beaumont, Iowa in Louisiana and St. Thomas in Houston. Laminack more than doubled the team’s win total from the season before at Iowa and won Coach of the Year honors multiple times and led St. Thomas to a TAPPS Class 6A state championship in 2008. click here for complete story
