Atascocita’s finally moving on again.

The Eagles fell in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs the past three years, but this time they used a 9-4 win over College Park on Friday on the Cavaliers’ field to sweep their bi-district series.

“It’s important to get that monkey off your back,” said coach Eric Matthews, who has the Eagles in the postseason for the eighth straight year. “These boys work hard, and it’s nice to see that hard work pay off a little bit.”

There’s still a lot more work ahead if the Eagles (23-6-1) are to reach their ultimate destination. They’ll face Round Rock, which swept Austin Westlake, in the Region II area playoffs next week. click here for complete story and photo gallery
