When The Woodlands lost Game 1 of its Region II-5A quarterfinal series against Atascocita last Thursday, coach Richard Jorgensen didn’t seem rattled and neither did his players. After all, the Lady Highlanders had been in that position before.
“We’re just getting warmed up,” Jorgensen said after the game. “They’ve got to battle. With our backs to the wall last year, I think three series we were down the first game. Three series we were down the first game and came back and won the series. We’ve got to believe, come back and do it one game at a time.”
The Woodlands, ranked No. 8 in the country by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, did just that and rallied to defeat the Lady Eagles in both games on Saturday, 12-5 and 7-4, to advance. click here for complete story
