Conroe High School teacher Lisa Sowell passed away Saturday after a long battle with breast cancer. In the last months of her life, friends and neighbors in the Rivershire subdivision rallied together to help the Sowell family with housekeeping, yard work, cooked meals, car maintenance and emotional support.

“In Rivershire, everybody knows everybody,” said Stephanie Meade, who helped coordinate the help network.
