Football: Carr driving Highlanders into postseason

carrrrThere are several reasons to go and watch the Houston area’s third-ranked Woodlands Highlanders play a football game. But the biggest reason might be tailback Patrick Carr. Or is that the smallest?

Carr, who stands only 5-foot-8 and weighs around 185 pounds, rushed for 143 yards on 21 carries to lead the Highlanders to a much-easier-than-expected 33-6 victory over the Oak Ridge War Eagles last Friday night at Woodforest Stadium.

The win moved the Highlanders to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in District 16-6A play, one game ahead of Atascocita (3-1) and a game-and-a-half up on Oak Ridge (6-3 overall and 3-2 in the league). click here for complete story
