
The Woodlands volleyball team was sent out with one final hooray as players, coaches, fans, students and the Highlander band gathered to celebrate the team’s Class 6A state championship.
The Lady Highlanders’ stellar season was celebrated on Market Street at a ceremony put on by The Woodlands Township in conjunction with Market Street on Thursday.
“It’s overwhelming the amount of support we get from the community,” The Woodlands coach Leslie Madison said. “It’s awesome to see familiar faces out here and people that we don’t know that support us and the people that we work with – other coaches and teachers who are here. … It means a lot.”
The Woodlands won its second consecutive state title with a four-set win over Clear Falls in Garland. The Lady Highlanders finished with a 41-3 record on the year. click here for complete story
