Gatti’s pizza employee shot in face during Sunday night robbery on Rayford Road

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a robbery that occurred Sunday night at a Gatti’s pizza restaurant in Spring, where two men held employees at gunpoint and shot one employee in the face before fleeing the scene.

Deputies responded to the scene at the 400 block of Rayford Road about 10 p.m. They discovered that two men entered the business, with one brandishing a handgun and demanding money while the other proceeded to the back of the restaurant where a safe is located.

One of the employees tried to disarm the man that was holding him at gunpoint and as a struggle ensued, a shot was fired which missed the employee. As the struggle continued, the robber discharged his weapon two more times, with one of the rounds striking the complaining witness in the face, according to MCSO spokesperson Lt.
