Following its first loss in District 16-6A play on Friday to No. 2 Atascocita, Kingwood head coach Royce Huseman wanted to see how his team would respond following that loss.
The Mustangs responded in a big way. Kingwood (13-13, 4-1 in District 16-6A play) came out on Tuesday at home taking a 22-8 lead against College Park before letting that lead slip away and needing some late heroics to clinic the 51-46 victory.
“It was a big win for us,” Huseman said. “Kind of kept us where we needed to be right there in second place. I think after things shake down tonight we’ll be in second place by ourselves tonight.”
The Mustangs came out on fire getting up early, 24-14 with just 3:31 left in the first half, but let the Cavaliers climb back into it, trailing 31-23 at the half. click here for complete story
