Girls Basketball: The Woodlands girls take down Summer Creek

Amber Terry and Meghan Musso both scored 14 points for The Woodlands as the Lady Highlanders shook off a slow start to pull out a 47-35 win over Summer Creek on Tuesday.

After falling behind in the first quarter and having to battle back in the second, the Lady Highlanders used steady free throw shooting and a scrappy defense to pull out the District 16-6A win at The Woodlands High School.

“This might have been our best performance of the year,” The Woodlands coach Dana Bruton said. “I was really impressed with how we played on both ends of the court, offensively and defensively.”

The Woodlands (15-12, 5-2) was 15 for 18 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to secure the win. All 15 of the Lady Highlander fourth quarter points came from the charity stripe. click here for complete story
