Half a dozen people in red and blue jumpsuits line up and listen attentively as their flight instructor explains the hand signals. Two fingers up means separate your legs. A thumb and pinky means to take a deep breath and relax.
“The most important thing is to smile the whole time and have fun,” says flight instructor Nick Riedel.
