Montgomery County had more than a few strong athletes on display at the UIL Wrestling State Tournament in Garland, and the majority of them will be fighting for even more come Saturday’s final rounds.
The day started off quickly for The Woodlands as Victor Jarvis defeated his first round matchup in the 113-pound weight class by an 8-5 decision. Jarvis would go on to lose to EL Paso Franklin’s Christian Ordaz in the quarterfinals by a fall in the third round, but he’ll continue to compete in the second round consolation bracket.
Oak Ridge also had representatives who will wrestle Satuday, including Lucero Rosales, who fought into the semifinal round, coming up just short against Clear Falls’ Elissa Douglas in the girls’ 128-pound weight class, but the loss didn’t extinguish the other bouts Rosales won earlier. click here for complete story
