Baseball: The Woodlands takes advantage of Foster mistakes, wins 10-3

The early season winning for The Woodlands baseball team continues in spite of the cold climate at the team’s varsity tournament.

The Woodlands capitalized on seven Foster errors on Friday at a frigid Scotland Yard, earning their third win in as many games with a 10-3 victory over the Falcons.

“It’s tough to keep your focus when it’s this cold out,” said The Woodlands coach Ron Eastman. “I think our guys are doing a pretty good job of doing that. (Foster) didn’t make a few plays that helped us out, and led to a few big innings.”

The first big inning came in the bottom of the third, when three errors by the Falcons gave up runs to Justin Diehl, Jacob Godail, Lucas Jensen, and sophomore Vince Secrest to push the lead to 6-0 for the Highlanders (3-0). click here for complete story
