On Feb. 17, Senior Sergeant Durbin observed a blue pickup truck run a red light at the intersection of State Highway 249 and FM 149. The Sergeant conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. A check on the 23-year-old male who was driving showed he had two warrants and he was detained. The 25-year-old male passenger was removed from the truck and an inventory of the vehicle was conducted. During the inventory, 2.7 grams of methamphetamine was found along with two glass pipes used for smoking it. Both males were taken into custody and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
