Conroe turned in a solid showing in the Ferrell Classic, going 2-2 while showing some promising pitching. But the Tigers’ bats stayed dormant for too long in their tournament finale, and Cypress Creek claimed a 7-4 victory on Saturday at Ferrell Park at Elmore Field.
“When you get to the last game of a tournament,” Conroe coach Jeff Raymer said, “sometimes it can take a while for the young guys to engage. “We can’t wait until the last inning … We’ve been telling the guys it’s not what you can do individually, but we can do together.”
