Softball: No. 2 Atascocita holds off Klein Collins, 8-4

Winning a District Championship gives a team a few things; first bragging rights, another banner to hang, the No. 1 seed heading into the playoffs and a huge target on their back.

No. 2 Atascocita, winning District 16-6A this season, entered the playoffs on Friday, facing Klein Collins in a one-game series. Win or go home.

“I think so because when we take the field we have everything in the world to lose,” Atascocita head coach Ashley Boyd said about there being extra pressure in a one-game series. “Most of the teams we’re playing early on there’s nothing for them to lose in it.

“Whenever you have nothing to lose and you’re going out there trying to prove something a team can do a lot of good things.”
