Robotics may not seem like an everyman sport, but one local team is trying to change that persona.

The Texas Torque robotics team competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition, which stands for “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.” Each year, teams receive a task like shooting basketballs into hoops, tossing Frisbees or, like this year, stacking storage tubs on one another and topping it off with a large plastic trash can.
While Texas Torque Team 1477 only earned a moderate amount of success at the 2015 international competition, team members aren’t newbies to the scene. They were the 2013 World Champions and nearly took the same title in 2014. click here for complete story
