The Pflugerville baseball team was a few outs away from forcing a Game 3 in its area round matchup against No.4-ranked Conroe Oak Ridge, but the War Eagle rallied, and Pflugerville lost the series and the game, 5-3 on Saturday.

It was an end to break through season for the Panthers.

“I’ve never been more privileged and (I’m) just lucky to coach the group that we had this year,” Pflugerville coach Dale Waggoner said. “They’ve been a great group and I couldn’t ask for a better group.”

After losing 10-0 in six innings the night before in Conroe – after the series had two location changes and evolved from a three game series over three days to a three game series over two—the Panthers struck first in Game 2 at Pflugerville. But each time the Panthers took a lead in the game, Oak Ridge responded with runs. click here for complete story
