Conroe, a sleepy hamlet of a thousand residents when it incorporated north of Houston a century ago, may not be the first community that comes to mind when talking about national hot spots of explosive growth.
Yet Conroe is the only city in the Houston area that made the U.S. Census’ list of the top 15 fastest-growing cities with populations over 50,000. From 2013 to 2014, its population
