Shot putter Piperi takes top spot at IAAF World Youth Championships

The Woodlands’ Adrian Piperi just keeps rolling. A few months after winning Class 6A championships in the shot put and discus as a sophomore, Piperi secured the first gold medal for Team USA at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Columbia.
The standout thrower won the shot put with a distance of 22 meters (72-29⁄64 feet).
“We always had plans for him to do some competitions during the summer, which he did early on in June, and then the opportunity to go to that qualifying meet for the World Youth Championships came up,” The Woodlands coach Juris Green said. click here for complete story
