Beignet, coffee shop brings New Orleans flavor to The Woodlands

The smell of melting powdered sugar sprinkled on piping hot, pillowy dough fills the air at a small corner café in The Woodlands.

In the former storefront of Brazillian Grain Coffee in the Alden Bridge Village Center, the first beignet and coffee shop in The Woodlands opened its doors earlier this month.

Lou Lou’s Beignets, a café that serves up coffee and the popular French doughnuts, has tantalized folks with its authentic New Orleans-style beignets, chicory latte and café au lait. During its soft opening, the shop had a line out the door and served free coffee and beignets to 380 people. Weeks after opening, Lou Lou’s Beignets still has wait times of up to 30 minutes during its peak weekend hours. click here for complete story
