Watching from football-crazed Texas, Carsen Edwards took note of the physical style of basketball in the Big Ten Conference.
The Atascocita High School point guard says that won’t be a problem. If anything, he needs to work on dialing back his tendency to use his body on defense and get into foul trouble.
“I enjoy playing physical,” said Edwards, who accepted Purdue’s scholarship offer on Tuesday. “I don’t really like playing soft. That’s the only way I know, really.”
Edwards played football as a sophomore, utilizing his quickness and athleticism as a wide receiver. He could have stuck with it and perhaps followed his brother Jai, currently a safety at Blinn College. But he knew he made the right decision to focus on basketball when major college programs, including Purdue, started taking notice. click here for complete story
