No one, not even the mighty Tigers of Katy could put up more than 14 points against The Woodlands defense while only two opponents on the Highlanders’ schedule held them to 21 or less.
Kingwood broke both those barriers on Friday at Turner Stadium, even if it was in a 21-18 losing effort.
“That’s a great defense,” said Kingwood quarterback Dawson Trudell. “Whenever we’re able to come out and score 18 on them, that gives us a lot of confidence going into the playoffs. We think we can hang with anyone.”
