Tuesday’s matchup between The Woodlands and Houston Memorial couldn’t be decided in four quarters. So the battled continued into overtime.
A 3-pointer from team captain Megan Musso gave The Woodlands a two-point edge with 1:23 left to play in the extra period. Then, two clutch free throws from Julia Glandt 30 seconds later helped secure a 37-30 win over the Lady Mustangs.
“I told them, it doesn’t matter how ugly it is — a win is a win,” The Woodlands coach Dana Burton said. “That was an ugly win, but the good news is that we didn’t give up and there were plenty of opportunities to shut down.”
