
They say the best plans often go astray. No sentiment was truer Tuesday night as Westfield exploited The Woodlands’ defensive game plan, hitting 11 3-pointers on its way to a 74-55 UIL Region II-6A bi-district win at Tomball High School.
“It was a tough game, and whenever you lose in the playoffs it hurts, but you got to give credit to Westfield,” The Woodlands coach Dale Reed said. “Very proud of our guys — they really battled and had a good first quarter. We just missed too many shots early on that got us into a hole.”
Westfield was led by Darius McNeal and Kobe Shorter, who each poured in 20 points and combined for 17 rebounds. But Reed was expecting the pair to have a good game. He wasn’t, however, prepared for Cory Holt to have a cheat-code-like performance. click here for complete story
