The new multi-purpose building at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is on schedule to be completed in May.
The 15,000-square-foot building will be the new home of The Woodlands Township’s annual winter ice rink for four months out of the year and will act as rentable event space through the remainder of the year.
In the past, the ice rink has been located in the parking lot at the corner of Six Pines Drive and Lake Robbins Drive in a temporary structure. The addition of the new building at the Pavilion will finally give it a brick and mortar home. In June 2015, the township agreed to provide $3.1 million towards the $4.9 million project, accounting for the cost of the ice making equipment and half of the construction costs. click here for complete story
