The All-District 16-6A girls basketball selections are in, and Conroe’s Tamisha Houston and Erica Powell are taking home two of the league’s biggest awards. Powell was named the district’s MVP, while Houston was dubbed Coach of the Year.

When she took over the program in 2014, Houston inherited a team that had graduated six players and had missed the playoffs the past six seasons.The first season wasn’t without growing pains.
