Girls Soccer: Pair of first-half goals lifts College Park past Conroe, into the playoffs

College Park’s Jordan Sterling (17) kicks the ball during the high school girls soccer game against Conroe on Friday at Moorhead Stadium.

College Park coach Meredith Cook knew that goals wouldn’t be easy to come by on the road at Buddy Moorhead Memorial Stadium against the Conroe Tigerettes on Friday night. Fortunately for the Lady Cavaliers, a goal in the 12th minute eased the pressure some with the fourth-place spot in District 16-6A at stake.

College Park got a pair of goals in the first half and played shutdown defense the whole night for a 2-0 win, reaching the playoffs for the first time in two years. click here for complete story
