A lot can happen in a century, and Montgomery County is no exception. Now the quickly expanding county is established, balancing economic growth and historic preservation, but over 100 years ago the area was vying to make a name for itself.

According to “Montgomery County, Texas: Picture of a Dream Coming True” produced by the Heritage Museum of Montgomery County, farming was a primary livelihood for the early settlers. They had come for the land and many had been farmers before arriving in Texas. Read more…
