The Woodlands delivered notice to the rest of the state Saturday with a 25-16, 22-25, 25-11 win over Coppell in the championship match of the Texas Volleyball Invitational in Pearland.

Coppell set the standard over the past two seasons with back-to-back Class 5A state titles and went into 2013 the state’s top-ranked team. The Woodlands, ranked sixth last week, not only took care of the Cowgirls, but No. 4 Southlake Carroll in the semifinals. Click here for full story
