Throughout the spring and summer, College Park football coach Richard Carson was consistent in his statements about his defense, touting it as the strength of this year’s Cavaliers team. It did not disappoint in the season-opener against Livingston last Friday.
College Park’s defense scored two touchdowns — one on a fumble return by Connor Weaverling and one on an interception return by Stephan Johnson. The Cavs held the Lions scoreless through the first three quarters on their way to a 40-13 victory.
