Madison McDaniel, a 6-0 setter, has transferred to play volleyball at Rice University, head coach Genny Volpe announced Tuesday. McDaniel, from The Woodlands, played her freshman season at Arizona State.

While playing for head coach Leslie Madison at the Woodlands High School, McDaniel totaled 647 kills and 642 digs combined during her junior and senior seasons. She was a 2013 and 2014 Lonestarvolleyball.com All-Texas 2nd Team selection, as well as a 2012 first team all-district selection.
