It took a strong effort in overtime from a freshman to knock off College Park the last time it faced its cross-town rival, but The Woodlands will be hoping for the same result today at home.
The Highlanders (17-10, 4-4) got all eight points in the extra period from its guard Romello Wilbert on the team’s way to a 55-51 victory over College Park (14-14, 3-4).
“It’s always such a heated rivalry,” The Woodlands coach Dale Reed said. “College Park never backs down against us. As competitive as it is, you almost don’t expect it to not go to overtime anymore.”
The first year player was the team’s high scorer back on Jan. 9 with 16, but the Cavaliers’ duo of Brett Reed and Chandler Morris were not to be outdone, adding nine and 18 points respectively to go along with Reed’s 18 rebounds. click here for complete story
