A three-member panel of the State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 3 in Austin to review potential violations of UIL eligibility rules by the Katy High School football team.

The ruling could affect Katy’s status for the upcoming Class 6A Division II Region III championship game against Manvel at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at NRG Stadium. The Tigers are 13-0 and are in contention for their eighth state championship, as well as a fourth straight state final appearance.

Katy ISD released a statement indicating the possible violation was self-reported by the KISD Athletic Department and the student’s timeline of enrollment will be reviewed by the UIL. click here for complete story
