Conroe put up a strong fight, but Oak Ridge managed to outlast the Tigerettes 7-5 on Tuesday night for its first District 16-6A win of the year. Following a two-run top of the fifth, Oak Ridge led the game 5-1, but Conroe answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning to tie it up at 5-5.
“We know we aren’t going to dominate on the mound — we’ll do a good job, but eventually they’ll get some hits on us,” Oak Ridge coach Amanda Brimberry said. “It’s something that we know is going to happen all year long.” But with the game tied, Oak Ridge (6-7-2, 1-1) put together another two-run inning in the sixth to go in front for good. click here for complete story
