Boys Soccer: Highlanders shut out Oak Ridge 2-0 en route to ninth consecutive district title

The Woodlands fullback Jacob Moore, center, celebrates a goal by fullback Ryder Sousa during the second period of a District 16-6A boys soccer game

With Friday’s 2-0 shutout win over Oak Ridge at Woodforest Bank Stadium, The Woodlands locked up its ninth consecutive district championship under coach Hans Kleinschmidt. Oak Ridge did its best to keep The Woodlands from clinching the District 16-6A title and held the game scoreless for 55 minutes.

It was the Highlanders’ ability to finish off set pieces that ultimately made the difference against the War Eagles, accounting for both goals. click here for complete story
