Girls Basketball | Oak Ridge earns two 12-6A superlatives

After a season that saw it finish as co-District 12-6A champions, Oak Ridge players earned two superlative awards.

Alecia Whyte, who was The Courier’s Montgomery County Player of the Year after her sophomore campaign, earned Defensive MVP honors as a junior in 12-6A. Nikki Petrakovitz, a freshman for the Lady War Eagles, was the Newcomer of the Year.

Locally, College Park junior Sandra Cannady was the only other superlative honoree with her Offensive MVP selection. continue reading…
